Dr. Alexander Moewes is a Professor and Canada Research Chair in Materials Science with Synchrotron Radiation at The University of Saskatchewan located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. His research group, the Beamteam, is studying the electronic structures of new and advanced materials.

Our Research

We are studying the electronic structures of new and advanced materials. We are using synchrotron radiation to perform soft x-ray emission and absorption spectroscopy of systems like biomaterials, superconductors and transition metal compounds.
